Taproom Associate

We are searching for motivated, outgoing, and dedicated people to join our team within our taproom. You will be joining a start-up brewery that will be growing alongside a competitive craft beer market within NYS. You will be expected to be knowledgeable and familiar with the products we produce, our brand values and to uphold our company culture. 

Previous knowledge about beer is not required but is preferred. We will provide you with all the necessary training about the history of beer and current beer markets. 

This position will require evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

Job Responsibilities

Pay: $13.20/hr plus tips

Service Duties:

  • Walk customers through our beer selections and educate them on our styles and the brewing process, as well as educate customers on our brand 
  • Provide the same level of customer service to every customer who walks through our doors
  • Anticipate customers’ needs, and engage with them regularly
  • Communicate in a professional, positive, and timely manner at all times
  • Make recommendations to our guests on our wide variety of drink options
  • Serve pours in accordance with our standards and alcohol safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar and taproom at all times
  • Bar job duties include: preparing drinks, washing glassware, bussing glassware, running the dishwasher, stocking inventory
  • Cleaning taproom areas including merchandise area, coolers, bathrooms, patio & lawn area
  • Seasonally setting up outdoor bar area 
  • Assisting Key Holders or Managers set up for events or private rentals 
  • Operate and troubleshoot draft equipment and change kegs as needed
  • Open & Close the bar according to the checklist
  • Give tours of the brew house at scheduled times
  • Process transactions on Square properly and manage cash transactions

Experience

  • 2 years of bartending/serving/hospitality experience preferred
  • TIPS training required -training provided by LJB if individuals do not have after 30 days of employment 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining professional standards
  • Team player and detail-oriented
  • Passionate about hospitality and cultivating an inclusive taproom experience
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds 
  • Ability to push, pull, and move full kegs (approximately 160 pounds) with assistance
  • Ability to work flexible days and hours
